IHOP (New Century Mall, Makati)

Image
Yesterday, after Mama's Accupuncture at Intercare, we went to the much celebrated IHOP. I have read so much news about this, there was even a time that there was a long line to get a table at IHOP. Anyway, after we were shown to our seats we were given something like 3 Sets of Menu. A breakfast menu, their regular menu and another menu showing steaks. My choice originally was the fried chicken dinner but the waiter said it was out of stock so we just got the countryfried steak and Mama got the Strawberry Crepe. After a few minutes of waiting our order arrived. As we sampled the food, my sister said that the food was not that good. At first i really did not agree with her but as i consumed the countryfried steak it was then i realized that the food was not that trully great. It was all hype, but the food is  not bad, there is just nothing special about it. The strawberry crepe is a disappointment. The use of canned or frozen strawbe

Benga's Eatery (Paete, Laguna)

Image
Last week we went to Paete to finally (After almost 5 years ) pick up the wooden posts i had carved by Paete Sculptor, Dr Fermin Madridejos. We were supposed to eat at Capati Kainan but when we arrived at Capati's it was closed! We ended up at Benga's again. When we arrived at Benga's it was dark. Good thing it was not a hot day or it would probably have been like a sauna at Benga's. I placed my order with the boy (who seemed like he was undergoing puberty based on his changing voice) who was at the counter, i ordered their Crispy Pata and Ampalaya con Carne plus Rice. While waiting for the food i went to the Church of Paete to take some pictures.  When i returned to Benga's the food was not yet there. After a few more minutes the food arrived. The Crispy pata was Crispy and it tasted good but if you dig deeper to the meat, it was still cold. The Ampalaya was just okay. Though The Ampalaya was just half cooked, perfect to get

Crazy Katsu (Marikina)

Image
Yesterday we had lunch at Crazy Katsu in Marikina. We ordered their Tonkatsu and Tempura both priced at P150 and Miso soup at P30.  I liked their Tonkatsu. It is Better than Tokyo Tokyo's but did not like their Fish & Vegetable Tempura. The cover up was not crunchy like other Tempuras. Overall it was a good lunch. But next time will avoid their tempura. Crazy Katsu is located along Lilac Street, Marikina Heights, Marikina.

Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken (Quezon City)

Image
We were supposed to try Tornado 's last week but did not get to so this afternoon we went there.  Tornado's is just a small restaurant in Maginhawa. There were no more tables inside so we just stayed outside.  We ordered the 1/4th Peri Peri Chicken Platter (P160).  The food arrived rather quick. The plate came with the 1/4th Chicken, Rice and Corn. I noticed that the chicken was rather dry. It tasted good though, but not close enough to Nando's. I finished everything as i was really hungry. The summarize, food was good but not as good as Nando's. The service was commendable. Fast, efficient and friendly. Tornado's is located along Maginhawa in Teacher 's Village, Quezon City.

Aling Mely's Carinderia (Malabon)

Image
One of the best places to eat in Malabon is Aling Mely's Carinderia. Food is affordable and delicious. After visiting the Church of Malabon we went to Aling Mely's. We ordered their Rellenong Pusit, Mechado and Lechon Paksiw. The Rellenong Pusit is as delicious as the first time i had it. The mechado was delicious also, i read somewhere that their mechado is cooked the traditional way and without using tomato sauce. The lechon paksiw was good too, not too sweet like other lechon paksiw. Aling Mely's is located along A. Bonifacio Street in Malabon.

Bawai (Quezon City)

Bawai's is a relatively new addition to the Restaurant's to choose from in White Plains. Last monday i was in for a treat as my Aunt treated me to lunch at Bawai. The house that houses Bawai is the actual house of Senator Tito Sotto. He sold his house and it was bought and turned to Bawai
