Tim Ho Wan (Megamall, Mandsluyong)

Image
Yesterday Afternoon we went to Megamall to buy a Clothes Dryer at SM Appliance and when we passed by Tim Ho Wan there was no line so after buying the dryer we decided to eat there. We informed the girl who was taking seat reservations that we were 3. She told us to wait. In a few minutes she asked us if we were complete. We said yes and asked the reason for this. She said they will only give the table to those physically present and if there was someone not present then you will have to wait for that person. Tim Ho Wan Megamall Branch Anyway, we were seated and menus were already on the table (their placemat is the menu) and a checklist & pencil was there where we will put our order. We got the following: Baked Bun with BBQ Pork - Delicious hot buns with very tasty BBQ Pork filling. A definite must order. Prawn Dumpling - very fresh tasting prawns. Delicious. Another must order. House of Minis (Glorietta, Makati)

Image
Last thursday we went to Glorietta in Makati to pick up the plants i had reserved with Mamabels of Bacolod. After paying for my plants we went to their Food Court (Called Food Choices) for a late lunch. I decided to go with House of Minis. I ordered their Regular Tbone Steak for 305 Pesos. I had it cooked well done. After a few minutes my steak was out. It was served on a sizzling plate. Gravy was poured over it. I enjoyed my steak. It was tender and tasty, the gravy was very good too. It complemented the steak. House of Minis in Glorietta is located at Food Choices.

Pat Pat's Kansi (Makati)

Image
For today's lunch we went to Pat Pat's Kansi. The last time we ate at Pat Pat's was probably 4 years ago. I could not remember anymore how their food tasted. Upon entering the Restaurant, their waitress greeted us and gave us their menu. We ordered their Bulalo, Grilled Pork Belly, Grilled Squid and leche flan. Our order arrived after a few minutes. The first to arrive was the Bulalo (Kansi). It was a Humungous bone in a small bowl. It was delicious! There were some meat at the bottom but not too much. So that was why the table beside us also ordered a bowl of laman. Next was the Grilled Pork Belly. I thought that it was kinda expensive for such a small portion but when i tasted it. It was delicious! The grilled squid was equally delicious too, it was cooked right. Though i do find it quite expensive at 240 pesos. The leche flan meanwhile was quite forgettable. It wasnt as fine tasting as the usual leche flan i usually like. An

The Lotus Garden Hotel (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

Image
When i was looking for a Hotel in Puerto Princesa i was looking for a Hotel close to the Airport. Lotus Garden was close and i was surprised at the Very Low Rate in Agoda. I booked the hotel for 2 nights. I never got to read the reviews, only after i booked the hotel. The reviews were mixed, some gave it excellent reviews and some some really bad reviews. I was already looking for an alternate place to stay. But i said to myself that i have stayed in much worse rooms so it will be nothing new. On the day we arrived at Lotus Garden we were greeted by a smiling face. I gave her my Agoda Voucher and she told us to sit first. She also told us to have coffee first while they prepare the room. It was a good sign.  The hotel compound is rather small, only a few rooms but it was charming. The presence of Lotus ponds gave it an exotic look.it also had a tree house which added more to its charm. While having our coffee another lady ap

Balinsasayaw Restaurant (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

Image
Yesterday, for our last night in Palawan we went to Balinsasayaw for dinner. We were supposed to eat at a restaurant near Baker's Hill but it was closed. The Setup of Balinsasayaw is one of a kind. The first time i saw something like it. The tables are located in elevated platforms with railings.  We ordered the following: Grilled Tuna with Rice (89), Chicken Inasal (79), Sinuglaw (195), Garlic Shrimp (195) and Buko Shake (69). Drinks were served first followed by all the food dishes. The Grilled Tuna didnt taste fresh. It was a bit dry. So different from the taste & freshness of the Grilled Tuna which was served at Kalui. The Chicken Inasal meanwhile was very good. I liked it better than Haim Chicken Inato. The Garlic shrimp was not fresh also. But the sauce was good.  The Sinuglaw was the standout among our orders. It was very good. Very tasty and the fish was fresh. It was nonetheless a filling dinner despite The Tuna and Shri

Banyan Tree Macau

Image
I always see Banyan Tree in Magazines and last September 4 i finally got to stay in a Banyan Tree Hotel.  Banyan Tree Macau is located in the Galaxy Compound. From the Taipa Ferry Terminal we boarded a Galaxy Shuttle Bus. We walked to Banyan Tree and were greeted by hotel staff giving us a thai bow. Check In was fast and efficient.  Our room boy was a filipino and showed us the features of the room. The room was everything like it was in the pictures and more. The room had a king size bed with a pool view. It had a big lcd tv. I think it was bigger than 32" and beside it was the bathroom.  The bathroom boasted of a barrel looking tub. 2 sinks a shower area and a toilet bowl with a automatic bidet! It was my first time to see this so it was really something. In the living room was the centerpiece of the room. The indoor pool. The indoor pool was more like a tub. The water was automatic. It turned on if it sensed water was lesse

Kalui (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

Image
Dinner yesterday was at Kalui. Our reservation was for 6:15pm. We were there exactly 6:15pm and we were seated promptly. There were not much diners compared to the last time we were there (January 2014) probably due to the Low Season. Scanned the Menu and ordered the Set of the Day which is good for 2 persons. (P435) kilawin (P195) and Shakes (Calamansi Mint & Mango Papaya). The first to arrive was a Complimentary Appetizer of Lato. I never got to like Lato and probably never will. Soup was also served free. It was a refreshing soup which had strong ginger flavors. Next our Drinks were served. The Calamansi Mint was good but could not taste the Mint. There was probably some subtle hints of mint that i did not take note off! The Mango Papaya did not have any traces of papaya flavor but both shskes were good. Next the Kilawin was served. It was good. The vinegar used was more powerful than the one at Haim

Haim Chicken Inato (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

Image
Yesterday we went to Haim Chicken Inato for lunch. We got a tricycle from Lotus Garden to take us there. It was actually walkable but we just got a tricycle anyway. When we were there we seated ourselves. In Haim Chicken Inato there are different kubos to choose from with each kubo displaying different art or pictures. After a few minutes there was no Menu coming. So we called the attention of one of the waiters. They did see us arrive but no one gave us a menu. After studying the menu we ordered the Chicken Inato platter for P90, it is a platter which consists of a wing or leg plus rice and atchara. I also ordered their Kilawin plus Buko Shakes. The Kilawin was first served then followed by the Inato. The Kilawin was good. The fish used was fresh. Its level of spiciness was just right. The Chicken Inato meanwhile was just okay. I still prefer Jo's Chicken Inato. The Buko Shake was delicious. It was thirst quenching and perfect for a H
