D' Original Matutina's Seafood Restaurant (Dagupan, Pangasinan)

The first time I heard about Matutina's was a few years ago when it was mentioned in the Inquirer that it is a favorite Restaurant of Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Since it was a long drive just to sample their food I had a hard time adjusting an open schedule just to go all the way to Pangasinan.

This morning we were able to finally find time to go all the way to Dagupan, Pangasinan to sample Matutina's. The one we went to is the D'Original Matutina's in Tondaligan, Dagupan, Pangasinan. They have another branch in Urdaneta Also. There is a Matutina's in Tarlac City but i guess this is not connected with the Matutina's.

We Ordered the following:

Sizzling Bangus - This was just Delicious. The Bangus was Milky. Meat was just perfect.

Inihaw na Pusit - Grilled to perfection. The Squid was tender.

Buttered Shrimps - though it was not the buttter shrimp i wished for, the freshness of the shrimps made it good enough for me.

Buttered Crabs - same taste as the buttered shrimps but the freshness of the crab compensated for my disappointment in the taste of the butter. I think it is better to order the Steamed Crabs

Kinilaw na Tanique - the tanique was over cooked in Vinegar. Did not really like this dish.

It was an enjoyable lunch and the trip all the way to Dagupan was worth it. Our total bill was P1610. The Crab was the most expensive, it was P600.00 for the XL Alimango.

  2. Thanks for this helpful post! I've been hearing about this restaurant for a while from my relatives and would love to try it out. I'll be visiting Pangasinan in a few weeks and will probably not have enough time to go to Dagupan. I'll be closer to Urdaneta. Would you know if the branch in Urdaneta is comparable to the one in Dagupan?

    1. Hi, I was able to try the Urdaneta Branch of Matutina's last month. I really cannot compare the food since what i ordered in Dagupan was totally different from the one we ordered in Urdaneta. Though if the Bangus will be used as a comparison, the one in Dagupan was way way better.
