Kenny Rogers Roasters (MegaMall Branch)

It has been a long time since i had a taste of Kenny Rogers. The last time was around 3 Years ago at Duty Free. That dining experience was disappointing as the food served at Kenny's Duty Free was bland and tasteless.

A few days ago, we went to Kenny's in MegaMall to claim free treats courtesy of BDO Cards (Every 2,500 spent entitles the Card Holder to a free treat from Kenny's, Auntie Anne's, Brownies or Bo's)

We claimed the Combo 3. Which consisted of 1/4th Chicken, Side Dish, Rice, Corn Muffin and Drink.


I wasnt expecting much but i was surprised as i enjoyed my Combo 3. Probably it was also because of the fact that it was free.

Now i look forward again of going back to Kenny's.

One of Metro Manila's BEST Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage. I found about Aling Pining's Crispy Pata in a FB Comment a few months ago. The Commenter just said the best Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage in Halcon Street in La Loma. With Just Halcon Street as the address we went to La Loma 2 weeks ago in search of Halcon Street Crispy Pata. When we arrived at Halcon Street we just asked the people there where we can buy Crispy Pata. We passed by it already it turned out. It was indeed just a garage. It had a small sign. Halcon Street Crispy Pata was Aling Pinings Crispy Pata.  An Old Lady was the one frying the Crispy Pata. While a middle aged woman  was the one accepting orders. We bought a Crispy Pata (P400) and we were on our way. At home we were eager to finally taste the Crispy Pata. It did not disappoint. The trip to La Loma was worth it. Is it the best? D' Original Matutina's Seafood Restaurant (Dagupan, Pangasinan)

The first time I heard about Matutina's was a few years ago when it was mentioned in the Inquirer that it is a favorite Restaurant of Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Since it was a long drive just to sample their food I had a hard time adjusting an open schedule just to go all the way to Pangasinan.  This morning we were able to finally find time to go all the way to Dagupan, Pangasinan to sample Matutina's. The one we went to is the D'Original Matutina's in Tondaligan, Dagupan, Pangasinan. They have another branch in Urdaneta Also. There is a Matutina's in Tarlac City but i guess this is not connected with the Matutina's. We Ordered the following: Sizzling Bangus - This was just Delicious. The Bangus was Milky. Meat was just perfect.  Inihaw na Pusit - Grilled to perfection. The Squid was tender. Buttered Shrimps - though it was not the buttter shrimp i wished for, the freshness of the shrimps made it good enough

Gaston Mansion @ Hacienda Sta Rosalia, Manapla, Negros Occidental

The Gaston Mansion in Hacienda Sta Rosalia located in Manapla was used as the Mansion of the Lorenzo's and referred to as Hacienda Lorenzo in the 1980's Film, Oro Plata Mata. The Gaston Mansion is not as opulent and ostentatious as the other Ancestral Houses in Silay or Talisay Cities. The rooms are small compared to the other Mansions in Silay or Talisay. It definitely was a Countryhome for the Gaston's. --oo00oo-- Facade of the Gaston Mansion at Hacienda Sta Rosalia Eversince I saw this Mansion in Oro Plata Mata i was intrigued as to where this Mansion was. I was in luck as it was in the list of Tours Offered by Next Stop Negros. Price for the tours is P2000 a Person, this includes a Buffet Lunch inside the Mansion and served in the Dining Room of the Gastons. It is P1500 a person if you have your own transportation.
