Macau and Hongkong Vacation

Image
Our Room at the Venetian Hotel and Casino I think this is the Hotel Owned by Jackie Chan The Goddess of Mercy Statue The Ruins of Saint Paul This is where we had our Breakfast on our last day in Macau. Foggo Samba, an all you can eat Buffet. Delicious! My Singapore based Sister M and her Family were going to Macau so we decided to join them. Our Macau Trip was from September 4-6. With a 6 Hour Stop Over in HongKong (Pal changed their Macau Schedules so PAL rerouted our Ticket to HongKong and gave us Cotai Jet Tickets from the Taipa Ferry Terminal in Macau to HongKong, Our Schedule became Manila-Macau-Hongkong-Manila). Here is what happened on our Trip. Day 1 September 4 The usual Check In at Airport and waiting for Boarding. Upon arrival at Macau's Airport i noticed that their Airport is quite small. After exiting, we looked for the Shuttle to take us to the Venetian. The distance from the Airport to the Venetian was probably just around 5 Minutes. The Venetian from a D...

Rose and Grace (Sta Rosa, Laguna)

Image
We went here after my Nanay's chekcup at the Asian Hospital. The reviews at the forums where so convincing that we decided to go from Alabang to Sta Rosa, Laguna to try their food.  We ordered Bulalo, Chili Garlic Shrimp and Bangus Relleno. The Bulalo was SOOO DISAPPOINTING. I think it was just re-heated. The Chili Garlic Shrimp was likewise DISAPPOINTING. It was just shrimp which looked like Chili Garlic Sauce drizzled over. And the Rellenong Bangus was PANIS (Spoiled). Anyway, it was such a DISAPPOINTING lunch that we will never go back to this particular Rose and Grace. There are other branches of Rose and Grace, and it is unfair to say that all Rose and Grace have the same quality of food.

1 Night in Bangkok

Image
From Singapore we decided to go to Bangkok. The last time I was here was in 1998. So this trip was 9 years after. The Suvarnabhumi Airport of Bangkok is very modern and HUGE! It is a very big step up from the Don Muang Airport. From the Airport we got a taxi to bring us to our hotel, the Pathumwan Princess Hotel (Located beside the MBK Mall). Suvarnabhumi Airport It was still to early so we left our bags with the Concierge. While we were walking outside the hotel, a TukTuk driver approached us and told us where we were going, so we told the driver that we were going to a Mall to eat. He told us to follow him to his TukTuk, so we went with him and we were brought to a Huge Place, and it turned out to be a Handicrafts Center! After that he brought us to a Jewellry Center, on the 3rd Jewellry Center we told him to just bring us back to MBK, but he pleaded with us, even if it was just 5 minutes that we go inside so he can get a Petrol Coupon. Oh well, we just agreed with him and after ...

Bollywood (Singapore)

Image
When you hear or see the word Bollywood you would think of India and its Film Industry and when you think of a Farm you would not think of Singapore. But in Singapore, there exists a place called "Bollywood" and it is also a Farm.  I never thought that a City State like Singapore had farms, but there are. Located in the Kranji Countryside, Bollywood stands out in Singapore. I had a fun day exploring the farm and seeing all the Fruits and Vegetables they grow. Bollywood is owned by Mrs Ivy Singh Lim and Mr Lim Ho Seng. It is a 10 acre Farm located at 100 Neo Tiew Road, Kranji Countryside, Singapore. Open Wednesday to Sundays 9am to 6pm.

Vienna, Austria

Image
A Country that I had always dreamed of going to, Austria. And that Dream became a Reality when we decided to make a Stopover to Vienna on October 16, 2006. After our Spain and Portugal Vacation. We stayed in a Very Hotel in the Heart of Vienna, though the Room was very small, our stay was very pleasant. The staff of the Hotel were very pleasant. In Austria, we visited the Palace of the Hapsburgs's, The Schonbrunn Palace. Though much smaller than the Versailles, it was more Charming. It did not look as formal as the Versailles, it had an air of Classic Elegance accentuated with beautiful gardens which added to its Appeal. I also had an enjoyable time browsing at the many Art Works for sale at the Dorotheum. We also Visited a lot of Museums in Vienna. It was just a 1 night and 2 day stay in Vienna, but definitely worth it.

Stockholm, Sweden

If Finland was a Pleasant Experience, Sweden on the other hand was a Horrible one! Stockholm did not register very good with me. I cant say about the other places in Sweden, but my friend who lives in Sweden told me that Stockholm is different. (thanks to the Crappy Service of the Pensionat Odin). Entrance to the Pensionat Odin is thru an Electronic Door. Upon Check In, the Man in the front desk was cold, unfriendly, rude. A word of advice to travellers going to Stockholm, never ever consider this Pension. We even had a hard time entering the Pension everytime we went out. The man at the reception did not tell us that the code was in the Key Chain!! Anyway, we toured the following in Stockholm. Their National Museum, filled with all sorts of treasures, paintings, works of art. Then we also had a canal tour. And also a tour of the Old City. Stockholm is a charming old city, our stay would have been very pleasant if not for the Rude Hotel Staff. Gate to our Flight to Madrid Our...
