Nagoya, Japan

Image
Nagoya (名古屋市 Nagoya-shi?) is the third-largest incorporated city and the fourth most populous urban area in Japan. Located on the Pacific coast in the Chūbu region on central Honshū, it is the capital of Aichi Prefecture and is one of Japan's major ports along with those of Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama, Chiba, and Moji. It is also the center of Japan's third largest metropolitan region, known as the Chūkyō Metropolitan Area. As of 2000, Chūkyō Metropolitan Area has 8.74 million people, of which 2.17 million live in the city of Nagoya. These pictures are from our Japan Trip of June 1,2001-June 7,2001. Nagoya was where we landed. We stayed here during our last day in Japan.

Nara, Japan

Image
Nara (奈良市 Nara-shi?) is the capital city of Nara Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. The city occupies the northern part of Nara Prefecture, directly bordering Kyoto Prefecture. Eight temples, shrines and ruins in Nara, specifically Tōdai-ji, Saidai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, Kasuga Shrine, Gangō-ji, Yakushi-ji, Tōshōdai-ji and the Heijō Palace remains, together with Kasugayama Primeval Forest, collectively form "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara", a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These pictures were taken from our Japan Trip of June 1-7,2001 (The Digital Camera was already in fashion then, but still very expensive). I really liked Nara, it is a quaint, charming and peaceful City in Japan. The attraction i really liked here is the Deer Park.
