Arabela Restaurant ~ (Liliw, Laguna)

Image
Whenever we are in Liliw, we always stop by at Arabela for food. This is a small Restaurant in Liliw, very quaint and Cozy. The Ceiling is quite low, so if you are a very tall person, be prepared to temporarily duck as you will probably have a hard time standing up straight here. This Restaurant i think was the Bodega of the house and which explains the very low ceiling. Food here is delicious. I usually order their steak whenever i eat here. Their pastries are also very good.

Exotik Restaurant (Kalayaan, Laguna)

Image
Restaurant located in Kalayaan, Laguna. They serve Filipino Fare. They serve exotik dishes here like frogs, snake, etc. I am not really a fan of their food. Their food is not bad, but definitely not Outstanding. The ambience makes up for the shortcomings of the food.

RSM Restaurant Calamba, Laguna

Image
We were supposed to eat at Arla's in Los Banos but it was closed so we ended up at RSM in Calamba. I thought it was going to be another RG Experience since it is a Turo Turo type restaurant also. We ordered the following, Pork Sisig, Adobong Pusit, Bulalo and Rice. Pork Sisig -The Sisig lacked crunchiness which i always look for in Sisig. But nonetheless it was okay. Adobong Pusit - RSM did a great job with their adobong pusit. The taste reminds me of the Adobong Pusit cooked at home, but this one was better! The squid was cooked just right. Special Bulalo - The Bulalo is packed with Meat! It is worth ordering specially if there are a lot of you. Rice wrapped in Banana - The rice is something worth mentioning. It is a surprise. Inside is a tomatoe and egg. And underneath it is salt! Definitely the perfect partner for their fried tawilis. "Sent via BlackBerry from Smart"

We ordered the following: pritong hito, tilapia with leeks and ginger, caldereta, kilawin tanigue, rice and a pitcher of calamansi juice. The pritong hito was fried to perfection, the tilapia with leeks and ginger was delicious, the caldereta was as usual, the best! The kilawin tanigue was a bit spicy but was very very good! I asked the waiter what they did with their tanigue since the taste improved, the waiter said that it was the owner's recipe. Service as usual excellent. Food delicious. Sta Cruz Art Trip and Lunch at Bay

Image
We went to Santa Cruz, Laguna today. I visited Nineveh Art Gallery owned by a friend of mine. I got works by Pagarigan and Brenda Fajardo. I also saw a work by Gabby Barredo, when I asked L I was shocked at how cheap it was. Upon closer inspection, it is made of wood not metal. Still it is a very low price for a Barredo. Nineveh Gallery Some Art Pieces Available at Nineveh Lunch at Palaisdaan, Bay Lunch was at Palaisdaan in Bay. Ordered inihaw na hito, tinolang manok and pinakbet ilocano. The Tinolang Manok tasted a bit bland, Our Cook L and B can cook better Tinola. The Inihaw na Hito was the usual Delicious Hito that I know, the fish meat is delicious, none of the grainy texture that some hito have. The Pinakbet Ilokano was disappointing, it had nothing except Okra Okra and Sitaw. Inihaw na Hito Nineveh Art Gallery is located in Villa Silangan in San Pablo, Laguna Palaisdaan is located in Bay, Laguna. Along the HighWay. After Samaral Restaurant. "Sent via BlackBerry f...

Tapsi ni Vivian for Breakfast, Bulawan for Lunch

Image
We had breakfast at Tapsi Ni Vivian in Marikina. They have moved to a much bigger lot since the last time we ate there. Their Restaurant now is classier and modern compared to the old one. I ordered their Tapsilog while M ordered the Soup #5. I could not remember how their Tapsilog tasted like before but before I remembered to take a picture of the Tapsilog it was almost finished. So no use in taking a picture of a plate that is almost 75% finished. I really cannot compare their Tapsilog with others since I think they are almost all the same but this one I liked, the cut of beef was just right, tender and cut into small pieces. The rice was good too. It must have been good since I finished the whole plate off. The Soup #5, the broth tasted good, and since I am not really a fan of Soup #5 could not comment any further. For Lunch, it was off to Bulawan again. This time we ordered the following. Crispy Pata - was not as good as the ones before, but still good. The skin could have been f...

Rose and Grace (Sta Rosa, Laguna)

Image
We went here after my Nanay's chekcup at the Asian Hospital. The reviews at the forums where so convincing that we decided to go from Alabang to Sta Rosa, Laguna to try their food.  We ordered Bulalo, Chili Garlic Shrimp and Bangus Relleno. The Bulalo was SOOO DISAPPOINTING. I think it was just re-heated. The Chili Garlic Shrimp was likewise DISAPPOINTING. It was just shrimp which looked like Chili Garlic Sauce drizzled over. And the Rellenong Bangus was PANIS (Spoiled). Anyway, it was such a DISAPPOINTING lunch that we will never go back to this particular Rose and Grace. There are other branches of Rose and Grace, and it is unfair to say that all Rose and Grace have the same quality of food.
