Negros in a Day (Bacolod-Talisay-Silay-Manapla-Murcia)

With the proliferation of Airfare Sales, going from one Island to another has become very affordable. Cebu Pacific is the pioneer for offering super low fares with their PISO FARE. I was able to purchase a Round Trip ticket for only P47.00 (add the terminal fee at T3 and it will come out to P247, then add the seat selection it will come out to P547, still very cheap). It was also another opportunity to visit Negros Island (my first for 2011) and finally get to visit Hacienda Sta Rosalia (The mansion used for the film Oro, Plata Mata).


Our trip was scheduled for 455am via Cebu Pacific. I had already checked in online and printed our boarding passes so we just left the house 3:00am. I was expecting that it will be a 30 minute drive to NAIA T3, but i was wrong as it was just 15 minutes. Anyway, it is better to be early than to be late. The plane departed 20 minutes ahead of schedule. We arrived at Bacolod-Silay International Airport earlier than the 6am schedule. Here was our Itinerary for the rest of the day.

06:30am - Arrived at Nyala Office
06:35am - Departed for Mambukal Resort
07:40am - Arrived at Mambukal Resort; went around the resort for some picture taking
08:45am - Arrived at Bacolod City; L'Fisher Chateau Hotel to meet with Imelda of Next Stop Negros
09:10am - Left L'Fisher with our Guide Betsy; Betsy pointed out the historical buildings in Bacolod like   the Capitol Building, the Luzurriaga Cemetery, Chinese Temple, Lagoon.
11:00am - We arrived at Hacienda Sta Rosalia in Manapla. Welcome Drinks on Arrival
11:30am - Lunch inside the Hacienda
01:00pm - Tour of the Hacienda Sta Rosalia Mansion
02:30pm - Tour of the Chapel of Cartwheels
03:00pm - Silay City Mansions Tour / Silay Church
04:00pm - Talisay Mansion Tour / Talisay Church
05:00pm - Return to Bacolod
05:30pm - Pasalubong shopping at Pendy's
06:00pm - Dinner at Bacolod Chicken House

One of Metro Manila's BEST Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage. I found about Aling Pining's Crispy Pata in a FB Comment a few months ago. With Just Halcon Street as the address we went to La Loma 2 weeks ago in search of Halcon Street Crispy Pata. When we arrived at Halcon Street we just asked the people there where we can buy Crispy Pata. We passed by it already it turned out. It was indeed just a garage. It had a small sign. Halcon Street Crispy Pata was Aling Pinings Crispy Pata.  An Old Lady was the one frying the Crispy Pata. While a middle aged woman  was the one accepting orders. Bacolod's Central Market (Bacolod, Negros Occidental)

I have been to Bacolod countless times already but it was only last March 10, 2011 that i got the chance to visit Bacolod's Central Market. From what i saw and remember what was written on the Marker of the Central Market, it was built in 1938 by a certain Don De La Rama.  The Central Market is located in the center of Bacolod and can entered from 4 streets, namely Gatuslao, Gonzaga, Luzuriaga and Bonifacio Streets. We went straight to the meat section of the Central Market to look for Longaniza (Chorizo is how they call it in Negros). The Longaniza we were looking for is the small one, we bought some Longaniza before in Talisay and it was very delicious and we were hoping that they would have it too in Bacolod.  We found a Longaniza stall in the Meat Section, it was being sold for P25.00 for a Dozen. We bought several to take home. We also bought some Batuan at the nearby stall for P80.00 a Kilo.  We were also looking for Kuakoy. We found it being sold by an old lady just outsid

Tita Lulu's Pancit Palabok (San Juan, Metro Manila)

If you are craving for Palabok and Tokwa't Baboy, the best place to go to is Tita Lulu's.  They serve delicious Palabok at Tita Lulu's (Located in front of PureGold Agora, inside the big parking lot). Always say you want the thin noodles when you order Palabok as it is better. The Tokwa't Baboy is equally delicious. Never forget to buy the palabok and tokwa't baboy together as they complement each other.
