Gaston Mansion @ Hacienda Sta Rosalia, Manapla, Negros Occidental

The Gaston Mansion in Hacienda Sta Rosalia located in Manapla was used as the Mansion of the Lorenzo's and referred to as Hacienda Lorenzo in the 1980's Film, Oro Plata Mata.

The Gaston Mansion is not as opulent and ostentatious as the other Ancestral Houses in Silay or Talisay Cities. The rooms are small compared to the other Mansions in Silay or Talisay. It definitely was a Countryhome for the Gaston's.

Eversince I saw this Mansion in Oro Plata Mata i was intrigued as to where this Mansion was. I was in luck as it was in the list of Tours Offered by Next Stop Negros. Price for the tours is P2000 a Person, this includes a Buffet Lunch inside the Mansion and served in the Dining Room of the Gastons. It is P1500 a person if you have your own transportation. Aside the tour of the hacienda, you will also be brought to the different Ancestral Houses which are open to the Public in Silay and Talisay Cities.

The Buffet Lunch, Haciendero Style

The Buffet we had at the Hacienda was an unforgettable Experience. You will be served by Servants of the Gaston Family as if you were a Haciendero.

The dishes served are from Heirloom recipes of the Gaston Family. My favorite dish was the Adobong Milyonaryo. Dry Style Pork Adobo which i prefer.

    Hi, I think they do not accept walk ins. You really need to get the tour from the agency. They do this as they really want to keep the experience very private. Just google Next Stop Negros if you are interested in the tour.

    The Chapel of the Cart Wheels is open to everybody. You can go there to look at it. They hold mass there every sunday also.

I have been to Bacolod countless times already but it was only last March 10, 2011 that i got the chance to visit Bacolod's Central Market. From what i saw and remember what was written on the Marker of the Central Market, it was built in 1938 by a certain Don De La Rama.  The Central Market is located in the center of Bacolod and can entered from 4 streets, namely Gatuslao, Gonzaga, Luzuriaga and Bonifacio Streets. Aling Pining's Crispy Pata (La Loma, Quezon City)

One of Metro Manila's BEST Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage. I found about Aling Pining's Crispy Pata in a FB Comment a few months ago. The Commenter just said the best Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage in Halcon Street in La Loma. With Just Halcon Street as the address we went to La Loma 2 weeks ago in search of Halcon Street Crispy Pata. When we arrived at Halcon Street we just asked the people there where we can buy Crispy Pata. We passed by it already it turned out. It was indeed just a garage. It had a small sign. Halcon Street Crispy Pata was Aling Pinings Crispy Pata.  An Old Lady was the one frying the Crispy Pata. While a middle aged woman  was the one accepting orders. We bought a Crispy Pata (P400) and we were on our way. At home we were eager to finally taste the Crispy Pata. It did not disappoint. The trip to La Loma was worth it. Is it the best? If you are craving for Palabok and Tokwa't Baboy, the best place to go to is Tita Lulu's.  They serve delicious Palabok at Tita Lulu's (Located in front of PureGold Agora, inside the big parking lot). Always say you want the thin noodles when you order Palabok as it is better. The Tokwa't Baboy is equally delicious.
