Bailon's Piaya (Bacolod City)

I usually do not like eating Piaya but there is a Piaya which i have learned to love (aside from Casa Carmela's Piayitos). It is a recent discovery which i got to know thru our Tour Guide Betsy of Next Stop Negros. The Piaya i am talking about is Bailon's. The difference of Bailon's from Bong Bong's is that this one is made in limited numbers only, it is still made by hand. It is thinner than Bong Bong's Piaya and instead of Ube filling inside, it has Molasses. It is very thin so 1 is usually not enough. A friend of mine said that it is too sweet for her but somehow i like it that way. I can finish a "Supot" of it compared to Bong Bong's which i can just eat 1 pc.

A whole "Supot" of Bailon's Piaya cost P80.00. It is best eaten just a few days after you buy it as it doesnt contain any preservatives. Aside from the Bailon Store in San Sebastian Street, you can also buy Bailon's Piaya from Pendy's located in Lacson Street.

One of Metro Manila's BEST Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage. I found about Aling Pining's Crispy Pata in a FB Comment a few months ago. Bacolod's Central Market (Bacolod, Negros Occidental)

I have been to Bacolod countless times already but it was only last March 10, 2011 that i got the chance to visit Bacolod's Central Market. From what i saw and remember what was written on the Marker of the Central Market, it was built in 1938 by a certain Don De La Rama.  The Central Market is located in the center of Bacolod and can entered from 4 streets, namely Gatuslao, Gonzaga, Luzuriaga and Bonifacio Streets. We went straight to the meat section of the Central Market to look for Longaniza (Chorizo is how they call it in Negros). The Longaniza we were looking for is the small one, we bought some Longaniza before in Talisay and it was very delicious and we were hoping that they would have it too in Bacolod.  We found a Longaniza stall in the Meat Section, it was being sold for P25.00 for a Dozen. Tita Lulu's Pancit Palabok (San Juan, Metro Manila)

If you are craving for Palabok and Tokwa't Baboy, the best place to go to is Tita Lulu's.  They serve delicious Palabok at Tita Lulu's (Located in front of PureGold Agora, inside the big parking lot). Always say you want the thin noodles when you order Palabok as it is better. The Tokwa't Baboy is equally delicious. Never forget to buy the palabok and tokwa't baboy together as they complement each other.
