Hapag Vicentico's Restaurant (Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija)

We just came from Vicentico's. I read about this restaurant when we had lunch at Coconut Grill. It was voted as one of the Restaurants with the best Pinakbet.

Vicentico's is housed in an Old House. It is surrounded by Capiz Windows. Flooring is Vigan Tiles. Wood furniture can be found everywhere. They have a choice of Air Con and Non Air Con plus there is also outside dining.



We ordered the following, KareKare, Sisig, Adobo and Chicharon Bulaklak. Plus Halo Halo Special.

Kare-Kare- this is quite unusual as it doesn't use the usual vegetables for karekare. It made use of pumpkin and Cabbage. Only sitaw is the original vegetable. Though this maybe the style here in Nueva Ecija. The peanut sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. The beef is tender. Definitely a Must try for Kare Kare Lovers.


Sisig - this is probably one of the best Sisig I have tasted (Actually the BEST). The meat is crunchy. It just had the right amount of mayonnaise. Onions were used generously. One order is not enough. I will definitely order this Dish again.

Chicharon Bulaklak - Crunchy and not oily. Not too salty also. A must try if you are not watching your cholesterol.

Adobo - one of the best Adobo's I have tasted served in a Restaurant if not the best. This is an old style adobo. It used egg and onions. The chicken is tender. The sauce just has the right blend.

Halo-Halo - this shares the spot of Aling Taleng's as the Best Halo Halo for me (If Aling Taleng's Halo Halo did not have Kundol, this will be the best for me). The ice is shaved to perfection. None of the whole ice pieces found in other halo halo. The level of sweetness is perfect. Be sure to order the Special instead of the regular as it is definitely special. We ordered the Halo Halo Special but it was not enough so i ordered another one but just the regular one.

Driving all the way from Metro Manila to Cabanatuan just to eat at a Restaurant may be a weird and crazy idea, but if the Food is as good as the Food at Hapag Vicentico's then the trip will be worth it.

I have been to Bacolod countless times already but it was only last March 10, 2011 that i got the chance to visit Bacolod's Central Market. From what i saw and remember what was written on the Marker of the Central Market, it was built in 1938 by a certain Don De La Rama.  The Central Market is located in the center of Bacolod and can entered from 4 streets, namely Gatuslao, Gonzaga, Luzuriaga and Bonifacio Streets. Aling Pining's Crispy Pata (La Loma, Quezon City)

One of Metro Manila's BEST Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage. I found about Aling Pining's Crispy Pata in a FB Comment a few months ago. The Commenter just said the best Crispy Pata can be found in a Garage in Halcon Street in La Loma. With Just Halcon Street as the address we went to La Loma 2 weeks ago in search of Halcon Street Crispy Pata. When we arrived at Halcon Street we just asked the people there where we can buy Crispy Pata. We passed by it already it turned out. It was indeed just a garage. It had a small sign. Halcon Street Crispy Pata was Aling Pinings Crispy Pata.  An Old Lady was the one frying the Crispy Pata. While a middle aged woman  was the one accepting orders. We bought a Crispy Pata (P400) and we were on our way. At home we were eager to finally taste the Crispy Pata. It did not disappoint. The trip to La Loma was worth it. Is it the best? Tita Lulu's Pancit Palabok (San Juan, Metro Manila)

If you are craving for Palabok and Tokwa't Baboy, the best place to go to is Tita Lulu's.  They serve delicious Palabok at Tita Lulu's (Located in front of PureGold Agora, inside the big parking lot). Always say you want the thin noodles when you order Palabok as it is better. The Tokwa't Baboy is equally delicious. Never forget to buy the palabok and tokwa't baboy together as they complement each other.
